Increasing Capacity 300%

When the Domino’s Production Facility in Ireland first opened in November 2000, everything operated under one roof; from production and distribution to chilled, frozen, and ambient storage. As demand grew, Domino’s quickly needed extra space to keep up with production.

Dawsongroup tcs Ireland provided the ideal solution. By supplying modular chilled and freezer storage units, installed externally, Domino’s was able to relocate their cold storage outside the main facility. This smart move freed up valuable space inside the building, allowing them to expand production while boosting cold storage capacity by 300%…  without the expense or delays of a permanent building extension

“We were the first company to have a three-bay widespan freezer unit, back in 2010,” said Joe Hartford, General Manager at Domino’s Production Facility. “Dawsongroup also added a roof over it to ensure there wouldn’t be any chance of water damage, as we get so much rain. We’ve since added another three units which we use all the time. In fact, we now run at 300% above the capacity the site originally had, which wouldn’t have been possible without the units from Dawsongroup. We couldn’t run the business without them.”

Reliable, Flexible Solutions

When the UK officially left the EU in January 2020, Domino’s Pizza Ireland wanted to make sure customers were not impacted by potential supply chain delays. To prepare, they built up stock levels to safeguard against any disruption to the delivery of fresh produce.

To store this additional inventory… the equivalent of four months’ worth of stock, Domino’s required five extra chilled and frozen storage units. Dawsongroup tcs Ireland provided the perfect solution through our Smarter Asset Strategy, giving Domino’s the flexibility to hire the units for two years. This approach meant Domino’s could secure the storage capacity they needed without having to commit capital to long-term assets, which were only required for a limited and uncertain period.
